Summary

In this episode, Betsy Khol, a first-year industrial engineering major, discusses a service-dog-in-training pilot program established this year at RIT and “Buster,” RIT’s first-ever guide dog in training to live on campus. Khol and Buster visited Studio 86 to share their story with host Mike Saffran. Khol describes life in Peterson Hall, classrooms (including Buster’s favorite class, University Physics 1), dining halls and along RIT’s Quarter Mile for both her and Buster, and how they have been received by fellow students and her professors. She shares her bittersweet feelings about parting with Buster and her hopes of bringing another guide dog in training—Faraday—to RIT this fall.
