Abstract

Countless cities, states and nations have decided to employ tourism development as a method to bolster their economy. One of the key components in a successful tourism development plan is the hotel sector. Hotel ownership patterns have a variety and range (from low to high) of economic impacts on the host community. Knowledge of the affects hotel ownership0 patterns have on the economy can serve to assist host governments in accomplishing specific economic objectives in their community. From this standpoint, it is entirely possible to facilitate a desirable outcome from tourist consumption of the host's cultural, historical and natural resources.
