Abstract
Spectrophotometric analysis and visual titration methods have been applied to the determination of Phenidone, its 4-methyl and 4, 4-dimsthyl derivatives, in photographic developers. The visual titration method is modified to allow for variation due to operator technique. Spectrophotometric methods are utilized for the identification of the Phenidone derivative in the Kodak process E-6 first developer. The derivative is believed to be Dimezome at 0.3 g/l.
