Abstract
Voltage and magnification are the variables of exposure used to investigate the effects upon the detection of lesions on lung tissue of a phantom. Analysis by percent correctness and ANOVA indicate that the voltage and magnification for the levels investigated had no significant effect upon detection accuracy. ROC analysis of the data also show no significant increase in detectability attributed to the variables investigated, The ROC evaluation does indicate a slight increase in detectability of the simulated lesions, while the percent correctness analysis does not. This difference may be due to the bias of the observers and removed by the ROC analysis.
