Abstract
Purpose of the Study The aim of this paper is to propose a solution for enhancing the learning experience of elementary school students by combining Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics in education. Our AI-powered system aims to classify students according to their intellectual abilities and offer personalized educational materials to assist their progress. Summary We propose using a personalized tutor robot to aid students in their learning. The robot categorizes students into three groups – High-Ability Student (HAS), Average-Ability Student (AAS), or Low-Ability Student (LAS) - based on their performance, facial expressions, and subjective feedback. The robot then displays educational materials that match the predicted level. Result The analysis of results showed that the proposed solution was effective in engaging and motivating students to learn. The challenges presented to students were personalized to their individual abilities, with LAS given low-level activities and HAS given high-level activities. This approach helped maintain students’ interest and engagement in the learning process by offering content that corresponded to their skill level, which was accurately predicted by the XGBoost algorithm with 100% accuracy. The post-diagnostic exams conducted after the experiment provided evidence that the experimental group of students outperformed the control group with an approximate improvement rate of 8%. These findings suggest that integrating AI and robotics in education can serve as a potent tool for enhancing the learning experience of elementary school students.
