Abstract
A Smart City is designed to improve the quality of life of its residents by utilizing the forefront innovations. Embedded within the smart city is the fundamental innovation using the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide novel solutions to residents, prompting to the enhancement of everyday life while promoting sustainability. This project highlights smart parking management that is a key pillar of a smart city. It implements IoT, sensors, and software to track the availability of parking spaces, the number of vehicles parked in a parking lot, the time for which these vehicles have been parked, and the real-time pricing relative to the availability of parking spots. Furthermore, I propose a dynamic pricing system to give maximum possible revenue for the parking authority and typical parking slot availability for the drivers. The process passes through different stages which synchronizes, filters and analyzes data collected from IoT sensor with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide the pricing of the parking, that is updated in real-time, based on the availability of the parking lots within the selected spot and displays the data on the customer devices (Platforms) and onsite parking machines.
