Abstract

Green spaces in urban life play an important role in maintaining healthy lifestyle and providing a calm and peaceful place for roaming around. Large new urban park projects are gradually decreasing in dense cities, and small green spaces like pocket parks are likely to become more important. However previous studies showed that multiple research studies on small urban green spaces have been conducted. On infill sites and other overlooked city corners, pocket parks are created. Apart from the obvious benefits of the ecosystem and the environment, they can be a small but important step towards a fair architecture. The project mainly studies pocket park design methodology, observes the things and basic characteristics of pocket parks, and defines their role in the urban system. The primary objective is to assess the possibility of creating pocket parks with community involvement and the municipality of Ajman with the help ofspecific mobile applications. Questionnaires and observations are made that vacant land may be transformed into pocket parks. It is expected that pocket parks can meet an important need of letting the city breath and help in the ecosystem. It's about time we modernize our city's needs and address them with creativeness, not expensive projects. Pocket parks are one way to do that. They may seem like a small and unnoticeable interference, but they may at the same time be a breath of fresh air for the concrete cities we live in.
