Abstract
The project 'SuperCook' is a groundbreaking design project that explores the integration of AI with culinary apps. It aims to revolutionize the kitchen experience by connecting users to new and accessible culinary adventures through personalized recipe recommendations, real-time cooking guidance, and interactive meal planning. By leveraging AI technology, 'SuperCook' not only enhances user convenience and efficiency but also fosters a deeper engagement with cooking and promotes healthier eating habits. This thesis delves into the design process, user testing, and iterative improvements that culminated in a user-centered, intuitive, and visually appealing UI/UX solution for modern cooking enthusiasts. In designing 'SuperCook,' attention was given to the selection of intuitive UI elements and fluid interaction designs that facilitate an easy and enjoyable cooking process. This section of the thesis elaborates on the choice of swipe gestures for ingredient selection and dynamic filtering in recipe discovery, which are designed to enhance user engagement and streamline the cooking journey. Furthermore, the strategic use of AI-powered recommendations and personalized user profiles is also discussed, highlighting their role in tailoring the app to individual preferences and simplifying the overall cooking process for users of varying skill levels. The thesis will extensively detail the creative and technical processes underlying the AI capabilities of 'SuperCook.' Specifically, the algorithms utilized for generating personalized recipes, leveraging user preferences and available culinary data, will be explored. The integration of user feedback into the recipe customization process will also be discussed, shedding light on how 'SuperCook' adapts and evolves to meet individual user needs. Additionally, existing AI models and technologies in the culinary domain will be referenced, providing examples of successful AI applications in recipe generation and user experience enhancement. The design process of “SuperCook” involved the use of Figma, Midjourney, and After Effects, enabling the creation of intuitive low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, interactive prototypes, and engaging UI animations. The application's design prioritizes user-friendliness, simplicity, and interactivity, with a clean and appealing UI that stimulates users’ culinary creativity. In conclusion, 'SuperCook' heralds a paradigm shift in digital culinary innovation, showcasing AI's transformative power in customizing and enhancing cooking experiences. This project underscores the fusion of AI's practical utility with intuitive user interface and visual design elements, setting a new standard for how individuals interact with cooking and food preparation tools.
