Abstract
Students were involved first hand in a simulation of events patterned after those at the White Sands Missile Range during the launch and photography of a missile. A special, but simplified photographic apparatus was used to record flight data. The purpose of the project was to emphasize the important role that photography plays in the acquisition of data and to expose the students to a quantitive application of photography. Cooperation, trust in fellow students and teamwork were an integral part of the project. Career opportunities in the photoinstrumentation field were also discussed.
