Abstract

‘Type Unbound’ is a typographic poster series and campaign designed to celebrate typography, exploring its dynamic possibilities through Augmented Reality (AR) simulation. This project bridges traditional and digital design by allowing users to scan posters and experience typography that defies its static nature, coming alive with animations. Each poster focuses on a distinct theme and these themes showcase the multifaceted powers of typography, highlighting its ability to communicate, inspire, and transform. The animated interactions go beyond aesthetic appeal, serving as a means to understand what type can do—how it shapes rhythm, creates form, adds dimension, and alters perspectives. By combining graphic design with AR, Type Unbound celebrates typography’s potential to engage and captivate audiences in ways that static mediums cannot. This project emphasizes typography as a tool for storytelling and exploration, pushing the boundaries of how we perceive and interact with type. It aims to inspire viewers to appreciate typography’s expressive capabilities and its evolving role in the digital age. Through this blend of technology and design, Type Unbound redefines the relationship between type, space, and user engagement, offering a fresh lens through which to view typography as an immersive, powerful medium.
